Follow your bliss and help more clients

April 20th, 2011

I have a friend who has a million dollar therapy practice. Yup- a million dollar practice. Take a minute and soak that in and listen to what comes up for you. Just check-inside and take a minute on what beliefs and thoughts that statement may have triggered for you. Allow yourself to sit with that without any self-judgment, just pure awareness.

Now let me tell you some things about this friend- she is very humble and very giving. She doesn’t work more hours than a therapist making six-figure (maybe even less). She does not market- she never needed to. She is extraordinarily gifted at what she does and helps people heal. She’s likely no different than you or I, but she does one thing wholeheartedly, and that is she follows her bliss and every step was shown to her so she could help support her clients and create income flowing into her life.

What does it mean to follow your bliss? Here’s an excerpt from The Power of Myth:

“BILL MOYERS: Do you ever have the sense of… being helped by hidden hands?

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: “All the time. It is miraculous. I even have a superstition that has grown on me as a result of invisible hands coming all the time – namely, that if you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”

So how can you follow your bliss and help more clients?

Here are a few tips to help you connect to the flow of bliss and start to tune into those invisible helping hands, so you can help more clients.

  1. Find out which of clients you work with leaves you feeling in alignment with bliss. Check-in with your energy after sessions and see which clients you feel a sense of uplifting connection with. These are the ones that you get excited about seeing when they are on your schedule. Start to see if there are similar qualities with those people whom you are seeing. For example, you notice that when you work with women who are healing from divorce and reclaiming their lives you feel a greater sense of fulfillment. This is an invisible hand pointing the way towards your bliss.
  2. If there are certain clients you enjoy supporting, then start to let others know. You may be a bit hesitant to claim a “specialization or niche” with a specific population, however, you can let people know you have a growing specialization with a specific population. For instance, “I help adults cope with change and anxiety, and I have a growing specialization with women who are recently divorced”. Follow your bliss and let others know whom you work with and how you can support them.
  3. Be curious and explore what expands your energy and contracts your energy, this will be the best barometer to help guide you on your blissful path.  If speaking to groups feels expansive, get the word out to your friends, network, and community groups that you’d like to speak. If it feels constrictive then explore what’s right for you- perhaps 1:1 lunch with a referral resource.
  4. If what you are doing is “sucking your joy”, then it’s time to do something different. We had some interesting conversations during one of the programs I was hosting about filing insurance claims.  The participants explored the costs of time and emotional energy involved; and they explored ways to let go of this task and move back into the blissful work they so enjoyed. Remember the solution focused tenant “once you know what works, do more of it: if it doesn’t work, do something different”. Where can you apply this in your business to help more clients?

Yet it is important to note that following one’s bliss, as Campbell saw it, isn’t merely a matter of doing whatever you like, and certainly not doing simply as you are told. It is a matter of identifying that pursuit which you are truly passionate about and attempting to give yourself absolutely to it. In so doing, you will find your fullest potential and serve your community to the greatest possible extent.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: “If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are — if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.”(Joseph Campbell Foundation)

Here’s how you can attract ideal private pay clients

March 23rd, 2011

Over the years of being in business I found that this is the essential ingredient to welcoming in ideal clients to your practice and to be quite honest, it’s fairly simple and extremely profound. I’ve seen this in my business, and learned this from other therapists making 6 and 7-figures, and when I am aligned with this core element my business flourishes.

It’s Love.

When love is at the core all things flow with ease and grace supporting you so you can support others. Let me show you exactly how love helps you to flourish in your business and welcome in ideal clients too.

Your business is a reflection of you, so when you are honored, loved and supported, your business reflects that as well. Here’s how you can lavish yourself with love: ask for and be willing to receive support. How does that look for you? Does that mean you let go of tasks that do not serve you, transition to private pay clients and let go of, or outsource insurance reimbursements, create systems and delegate out what is not your brilliance work? This frees up time for you to renew yourself, work on what gives you pleasure and be present with your needs. Nourishing your heart and soul creates a feeling of expansions and a softened presence reflected in all of your interactions.

Being centered and grounded in love, you can let go of things that do not honor you, lovingly releasing thoughts, ‘to-do’s’, expectations, ‘shoulds’ and anything else that does not serve you. You become more committed to honoring your precious time and release what drains your time, and you hold others in a place of accountability. Watch how, as you embrace self-love, others will respect your time and boundaries. You will notice how your clients shift, and you’ll attract new clients whom respect your time and gifts (reducing no-shows, cancellations, or late payments). You’ll find it is easier to say, “no thank you”, to what does not serve you, and “yes” to what feels self-honoring.

When you are nourished and come from a place of love when you’re asked about your business you naturally shine your enthusiasm and passion.  You share what you do, knowing that your gifts help others. You release all beliefs about not knowing enough, not having enough education, experience, etc and instead fully embrace yourself with love and compassion for the healing gifts you innately possess.

From this place of love you share the work you do and how you can help others. You release any limiting beliefs that keep you focused on your ‘stuff’ and instead you are able to be fully present and open when others ask you about what you do. Operating from a place of love, you are clear which clients you work best with; and you share this with those you meet, so they can pass on your name and information to those ideal clients you can best serve. All of your marketing materials reflect this, as your words are client-centered and deeply resonate with those ideal people you are meant to serve.

Here’s the final element of how love impacts your work. When your clients are in your presence they feel your love and compassion. I remember years ago hearing Bill O’Hanlon speak to my class on loving your clients. At the time I thought, well that’s really inappropriate. I’ve now come to a deeper awareness that loving your clients is fundamental in the work we do as healers. As we help people move on their own journey of compassion and self-love and letting go of beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve them, we must be fully present with love.  This loving presence is the balm for the pain and suffering of those we work with. They may not be ready to move into love for themselves, and they many not have ever experienced a compassionate and understanding presence. Your holding the space with love allows your clients to do the same.

How does this impact your business you may wonder? For your clients being held in a place of love and compassion is a powerful feeling and this creates deep relationships with clients who are committed to their personal work. You’ll find your clients more invested in their sessions and themselves, and as they fully embrace their own self-love they become joyous “fans” spreading the message of what you do to their friends and family.

For those of you who are feeling a pull between feeling like you need to do more, and embracing compassion and self-love (and you want some very practical creative strategies to keep you grounded) then I invite you to the Creative Alchemy Retreat.

Creative Alchemy happens when you open to the possibilities and declare that you are the authority in your life.

Listening and following your heart leads you to more joy, abundance and authenticity in your life, and when you are feeling expansive and excited more juicy joyous things show up in your life to support you- like meeting the right people to support your vision, like joyously sharing your work and new clients saying yes, like feeling that delicious buzz that you are honoring your soul’s purpose.

If this is tingling within you then you are ready for Creative Alchemy, and so are we!

Together, Shauna Harper from Consciously Creative, and I decided to create a sacred and supportive space for an intimate group of women:

  • to dive deep into your inner knowing,
  • release the stories that no longer serve you,
  • and listen to your intuition to discover what’s the next step in your life and in your work.

We’d love for you to join us –  http://www.creativealchemyretreat.com/

Lessons from your closets: What do you need to let go of to move forward in your business?

March 9th, 2011

Take a minute and think about what you have in your closets and what you have in your drawers. Are they are stuffed full of things you don’t wear, or think or hope one day you’ll fit back into, or things you think you might need, someday. If they are super jammed packed, then there is likely no room to add anything to it.

Now, we can look around and start to see the patterns of our thinking reflected in our belongings. Look at your bookshelves, your garage, your car, your office, your kitchen cupboards. What are they saying about your ability to let go and create space for something new to evolve? Now take a minute and look at other areas of your life. Your email inbox (eek), your calendar, your to-do lists, your community commitments, your schedule, your child’s schedule. What does that look like? Is that crammed filled with activity, stuff, commitments?

Now take a minute and turn that energy inward. Are there unresolved grievances, anger, sadness, that are lingering. Is there blame, shame, and fear, self-doubt cluttering up your inner landscape. Do you have swirling thoughts, and critical chatter of critics and ‘shoulds”? Is your inner world packed and overflowing?

We as healers and helpers know that the outer world is just a reflection of the inner, that our closets are a reflection of our inner being.

It is so easy to step on the speed treadmill of “doing” and stay endlessly distracted with busyness and neglect to tend to our closets, garage, email inbox, inner mind and soul. No need to become critical with this awareness, instead lean into the awareness as an opportunity to explore what’s really going on with your closets, yourself, and your business.

You may want to ask yourself these questions and use some art to explore your responses:

  1. Why all the busyness? What’s the purpose of it? Decide what’s a priority, and let go of what’s not.
  2. Decide what you REALLY want. I ask those I speak with to tell me about how their days and weeks would look if they were doing what they loved. Most have never taken the time to get very specific on what they want, and instead they react, stay busy answering emails and phone calls randomly, responding to what comes up, rather than making a firm commitment towards their vision. If you don’t have a vision of what you are creating, then that’s the initial area you need to clear up some space and time to explore. Use some art materials and listen to you inner voice for guidance.
  3. What do you need to let go of? In order to create the space in the closet for all the new goodies you are adding you’ve go to let go of those leather pants you swore you’d someday fit into again. In your life there are some commitments and obligations that can be delegated or ditched, and some commitments no longer fit. Internally, there are some beliefs that no longer fit, such as your need to do it all by yourself, your need to know how before you act, your belief it needs to be perfect, your need to have a pretty website and brochure before you start to see more clients. These are hanging out like bad gold lame, it’s time to let go.

So pick one thing that you will focus on for this whole week; just one thing that you will let go of what no longer serves you (it can be personally or in business). Allow yourself to feel the fullness of what it means to let go of that and what might be triggered in the process.

Now before your brain launches into a story about, “Now I need to get this done”, or “I don’t even know where to start” or “See, I’m not good enough” or “I don’t have the time”, lovingly drop the story.

Lovingly
Drop
The Story…

There, you have just let go of what no longer fits.

Letting go creates space for what’s new to grow. Are you ready to learn how to transform your vision of helping more people into a passionate powerful and profitable business you LOVE?

It’s all about love, baby!

January 26th, 2011

Love, amore, honey bunch, cutie pie…love is in the air! So, are you showing your money some loving? Hmmm.

If you are have a bitter relationship with your money or you are just not feeling the money LOVE, it’s time to change your relationship with money so you can welcome more of it into your life. I want to offer you some creative tools and strategies to help money fall head over heels in love with you, so it keeps flowing gracefully into your life.

So let’s get a little creative here with a visualization exercise.

Imagine money coming to you joyously and easily. Right, you open the mail and there is an unexpected check, you check your messages and a client you haven’t spoken with in a while wants to come in this week, your about to do some laundry and find some unexpected money in your pocket.. it just keeps showing up! Yippeee! Feel the expansive energy around this, it feels easy and effortless- and oh so joyous!

Now imagine you open the mail, there is an unexpected bill, and you think, “not again”. You get into your car and the engine light comes on, and you feel a tightness in your chest. A client calls and cancels for later that week. You check your bank balance, and it’s below your comfort zone. You start to feel constricted, it feels tight, and restricted and fearful.

So let me ask you a question, out of these two scenarios, where to you focus most of your time and energy?

Are you spending more time in money chaos land, where you are focusing on all the lack and fear of not having enough?

Are you living mostly in the land of money ease and grace, where you see around you all of the ways money flows into your life?

Here’s the gift– money is exactly like a child. Think about your child, or a child you know. When you pay attention and lavish them with love and nurturance, (for the most part) they are pretty content with the connection and feeling paid attention to.

Now think about what happens when your child comes up to you and you’ve got you hands full with dinner, your on the phone, and they can’t get your attention? Off they go into another room, frustrated. A few minutes later you hear your other child scream because, “she hit me”, or “he took my toy”. Whhhaaaahh! Total melt-down!

Why, because you weren’t paying attention.

Money, too likes attention, and either you are going to pay it attention with love and nurturance, or you are going to pay it attention with frustration and struggle.

So how do you show your money some LOVIN’ to keep it well behaved?

If you are spending more time balancing your checkbook and wondering where your money has gone, then it’s time to shift to some positive supportive money habits.

Here’s one you can start today. Track every bit of money that comes to you. Every rebate check, every dime you find in a pocket, every penny that flows to you and your family (this means for both you and your spouse too). Everything, Everyday.

Don’t separate his and hers, or negate a small amount of money, or say “I didn’t earn it”. Count it all- every day!

You’ll start to notice how much money flows to you. Pretty doggone remarkable. Then as you track it on a monthly basis you’ll see how much comes into your household over time (and where there are lulls, so you are not a victim when there are slower times).

You’ll also start to notice the average amount of money that comes to you over several months, so you can increase that amount. In fact, there is a very specific formula to increasing the amount of money that flows to you. I share with you exactly what that is, and you can access it for F-R-E-E as part of your IATPP membership benefits. Are you losing money right now? – Ouch!

January 12th, 2011

Do you know your practice has a cycle? Basically your practice has seasons in which there is a tremendous amount of action, and then times when you have a lull (and maybe some worries that it may not pick up again).

Well, I tracked it in my practice (month to month) and graphed it out over 5 years and saw that indeed it wasn’t my imagination; there were very clear patterns of business. I know intuitively you feel this in your work, even if you’re not tracking it. Here’s the thing, you may be losing money right now and you may not even be aware of it- Ouch!

Right now the New Year has begun and people are looking for ways to improve their relationships, change their behaviors, and all the accompanying emotions that comes with that (think of weight loss and emotional eating or smokers who use nicotine to self-soothe & self-regulate). So right now you are in the perfect position to offer your services as the “solution” to your client’s problems.

You see, as I tracked the clients I saw and there was a trend. Since I worked with children and families managing acting out/shutting down behaviors, it made perfect sense. When school began there was a slow period, and when the first progress reports were sent home I saw a jump up in the calls to my office. Again, the calls slowed during the holidays and summer found most families on vacation, with fewer arguments over homework, so it was pretty quiet. From January, until when school let out, each month progressively became more and more busy, and of course calls peaked when progress reports and report cards came out. Coincidence? I think not!

Here’s the thing. I knew my ideal clients (I so adore) pretty darn well, which means that I knew when to offer some type of group because there were more kids in need, and when to schedule my vacations (spring break), plus I knew when there were slow times (so I could offer another type of program to create income, or just take a break).

So do you know your clients well enough to know their needs, when they are motivated to get help, when your practice expands or contracts, and do you have a plan in place to make sure you are creating support for your clients needs during those times and creating income through these lulls?

You may be losing money right now if you have not gotten crystal clear on who you help, how you help them, and what they are looking for right now. For those of you who are “specialization” or “niche” resistant- enough!! It does not serve you!

So how do you stop losing money? Right now it is the time to get into action with your practice. People are hungry for changes, transformations, and help! So identify who your peeps are, what they are in need of, (and you need to get really specific here, not ‘feeling better’ or ‘happier’), and create an opportunity to help them.

This can be done in any type of healing work. For instance, I went to a complimentary women’s mediation group last weekend and almost 70 women were there to mediate. Pretty amazing energy in that room to say the least!

Anyway, the leader was graceful and supportive, and invited everyone in the room the opportunity to work with her. She perfectly positioned her services, and I’m certain she welcomed at least a dozen new people into her practice. Why, because she planned her group perfectly- right at the start of the new year, locating her ideal clients, and providing a specific way people could work with her next, and she had a continuity plan in place – All done with pure grace and ease, and no feeling what so ever of ‘selling’ anyone.

If you want to bring that feeling of grace and ease into your practice and welcome in clients in a way that’s right for you, then I invite you to join the Fill my Practice Now program. If you are looking for a way to pay for the program, I’ll show you how you can earn your money back and welcome in new clients immediately. Seriously, I’m going to teach you how you get off the call and how you can have new clients that evening. If you want to be on that call (and believe me you do), you must register by MIDNIGHT TONIGHT (EST) to receive this exclusive bonus! Claim your spot now!

What’s stopping you from creating your ideal practice?

December 29th, 2010

During this period when we pause to give closure to one year and to welcome in the possibilities for the new year I ask you to honor yourself and your work by taking a few minutes to contemplate and create.

So ask yourself this powerful question, I call it the miracle question for your business…

If you could wave a (realistic) magic wand and you could create your ideal practice in the next 6-months to 1 year, what would that look like?”

Now take a few minutes to truly savor that- what would your days look like, what would you be doing each day (teaching, speaking, writing your book, seeing a handful of clients), how much would you be making, what would it feel like? Allow yourself to get lost in visualizing this for your business.

Now take 30-minutes and pull out some markers, crayons, oil pastels, magazines or any art materials that strike your fancy. Find or create images and words that support your ideal practice. Truly make this so yummy and a bit of a stretch to grow into, but also tangible and within the realm of possibilities. Play and enjoy the process and allow your heart to guide you.

Now take a few minutes to take in and relish what you’ve created. It should feel expansive, a bit out of reach, exciting and give you tingles!

Here’s the next step in this process- and where you can welcome in purposeful action. Ask yourself these questions and allow yourself to freely journal without any censoring, and see what you discover.

What do you desire to create in the next 6-12 months? Describe in detail what it would look like 6 months to a year from now.

What’s been stopping your from creating this vision of your ideal practice? (Keep asking this question until you have released all the thoughts, beliefs and physical things that are keeping your from achieving this vision).

How would it feel if you released all these things and beliefs that have been stopping you and you flowed easily and gracefully towards your ideal vision?

What do you need to do (or not do) or let go of to make your vision a reality?

What’s one thing your will do right now to take purposeful action towards your vision?

I celebrate the possibilities of your vision and know that you must take the time to reflect and welcome your ideal practice- then you must take purposeful action to make it come to life. That’s where I can help support your vision and help guide you to turn it into a reality ☺ Yippee! So I invite you to join me as I share my SECRETS of how I filled my own practice & created an award winning fee-for-service 6-figure business, and how I can help your authentically do the same!  Register here for the Fill My Practice Secrets Complimentary Teleseminar now!

The secret ingredient you may be missing…

December 15th, 2010

… establishing your expertise and credibility in your community, and beyond with Public Relations. You see, as an expert you are well respected, you’re seen as the ‘go to person’ when a problem arises, and you are sought out for your specialized knowledge, and paid more too! Plus, when you establish the unique solution that you offer, you separate yourself from all the other healers and helpers, and there truly is no competition.

Public Relations can be seen as the gift of maintaining relationships between your business and your potential clients. PR allows your message to be delivered by an objective third party, therefore it’s given more credibility and authority than a paid marketing message.

Healers and helpers will spend countless hours honing their gifts, and working directly with their clients, but they often put this essential marketing ingredient on the back burner.

1. Before you launch a PR campaign you need to be clear on your area of expertise. You can’t begin to launch a marketing campaign if you don’t know where to direct your efforts. Once you get clear on you area of expertise (and the unique solution that you offer), then you can start to spice up your marketing efforts and know exactly where to spend your time and money to reach your clients.

2. You’ve got your website and blog to further establish your expertise and credibility, now where else can you share your knowledge? Use PR to help you connect with the media and share solutions to problems that their listeners/readers may be having. You can connect with newspapers, radio shows, forums, magazines (offline and online), other bloggers, video interviews, ezines, podcasts, etc to share your message. Remember, target your PR efforts to a specific population, and the problem that you solve, and then you’ll be crystal clear where to find your ideal audience.

3. Great, you’ve identified a perfect resource, now what? Use your skills as a healer and helper to think in terms of service. How can you provide a potential reporter, blogger, or radio host with the easiest way to share a really valuable story with their readers/listeners? Send out a press release with a very catchy title or send a brief email that offers something of service to the person/organization you are contacting. Think in terms of how to help them out, versus wanting them to help you.  The easier you make their job, the more likely they will use your content.

4. Keep a press kit ready to go. When someone asks me to speak at an event or for an interview I have a system in place to easily retrieve all the necessary information, quickly. Since most reporters are working on a tight timeframe, having these marketing materials on hand is essential. You can have a link to these on your website. Make sure you include in your press kit: A short (200 words) biography, including the clients you work with and how you help them (and a free offer to direct them to your website). Also include a headshot, an up-close professional photo, articles about you and other media coverage, and links to online videos and podcasts.

5. Ask- Yes, it’s that simple! Ask your friends, family, and media personnel if you can share your gifts. It’s amazing what happens when you start to ask. I asked my local books store to carry my book, and we ended up having a signing event in front of the store. From there it was easy to promote the event to the local newspaper with a press release.

6. Be creative, playful, and fun in the process. Shine your unique message and brand in your PR! I wanted to promote my business and get the “word out” that children can use their creativity to solve their melt-downs, shut downs and tantrums. Being the Creativity Queen I wanted it to reflect my Brand of playful possibilities, so I donned my “Royal Attire” and showed up at the reading festival, book signing events, and arts day promoting my book. I stood out, sold lots of books, and more importantly became ‘recognized’ for the creative work I do. You may not necessarily need to wear tights, but thinking outside of the box, and in alignment with your message (and brand) will help you create lots of f*ree PR for your business, and these days that’s a special ingredient we all should be adding to our businesses!

How to create the practice your heart desires!

June 16th, 2010
I spoke to two different therapists within 24-hours who were talking about feeling burned out. That’s a terrible feeling, and I know all of us who have worked with clients for any length of time have felt that way. It’s essential to nourish ourselves and re-charge our batteries, and I hope you are creating space in your life to do so.
I’m honoring my heart’s desire to travel, connect, and chill-out this summer. First with a trip to Washington DC, where I’m being flown out by SORE to be a part of a video they are creating (how cool is that), and then off to NY for 6 weeks “playcation”. I’ll be spending lots of time on the lake, taking some time to read, do art, hike, nap, be with family and friends, while working with select practice building clients, and my platinum group.
Sounds delicious, right? You may even want to eradicate me from your email box, angrily thinking, “Well that just works for you Laura”. Here’s the most joyous part of this, you can recreate what your practice looks like, so it honors you, and what you desire.
How?
Let’s break it down, so you too can start to see the possibilities. In the process you’ll get to engage both sides of your brain, working first with your creativity and intuition, then with your logical linear thinking.
First, get very clear on what you desire, exactly what it looks like and feels like for you to be living in alignment doing your heart’s work being of service to others, AND how you are being of service to yourself.
Secondly, you need a step-by-step plan. This is where the logical and linear mind shows up to support you, with a clear and concise plan of action to take. This is what will help you move from point A to point B, and reach the goal you desire.
When I did this in my own therapy business it became crystal clear on what I needed to focus on to help me move toward the goal I desired, it also helped me get clear on what I was doing that was a waste of time, energy, and money.
Here’s my question for you, do you have your ‘how’? Do you have a step-by-step plan in place with the clear actions you need to take to create the practice your truly desire?
Your Creative Practice Building Homework:
1. Create your ideal vision of your therapy business, what you are desiring to create. This is where you can invite your intuitive, creative, knowing side to come forward and play. Pull out the art supplies and collage materials, or write with your non-dominant hand, or wave you magic wand and wish, whatever gets your creative juices flowing…then allow space for you to witness what arises without judgment and censorship.
2.Create an action plan. Start by identifying what you desire to create, your outcome, then break it down into small steps to get there. First identify your clients, then develop your system on how you work with clients, then how you will connect with them, then how you will create a system to continue to follow-up with clients who are not quite ready, then create a plan on how to leverage your time, so more people will have access to the gifts you have and you’ll be of service to many more clients. When you break it down into smaller steps you’ll have a map for your business and you’ll see results quickly!
Ready to be handed all the information necessary to move into action quickly and create your step-by-step action plan? Then you are going to want to jump on this final opportunity to join the Fill My Practice NOW Bootcamp. This offer ENDS TONIGHT (after midnight poof, it’s gone), and you are not going to want to miss this value packed program!! …(link to bootcamp)

First, with a trip to Washington, DC where I’m being flown out by SCORE to be a part of a video they are creating (how cool is that), and then off to NY for 6 weeks “playcation”. I’ll be spending lots of time on the lake, taking some time to read, do art, hike, nap, be with family and friends while working with select practice building clients and my platinum group.

In the process you’ll get to engage both sides of your brain, working first with your creativity and intuition then with your logical linear thinking.

First, get very clear on what you desire, exactly what it looks like and feels like for you to be living in alignment doing your heart’s work being of service to others, AND how you are being of service to yourself.

Secondly, you need a step-by-step plan. This is where the logical and linear mind shows up to support you with a clear and concise plan of action to take. This is what will help you move from point A to point B and reach the goal you desire.

When I did this in my own therapy business it became crystal clear on what I needed to focus on to help me move toward the goal I desired. It also helped me get clear on what I was doing that was a waste of time, energy and money.

Here’s my question for you – Do you have your ‘how’?

Do you have a step-by-step plan in place with the clear actions you need to take to create the practice you truly desire?

Your Creative Practice Building Homework:

  1. Create your ideal vision of your therapy business, what you are desiring to create. This is where you can invite your intuitive, creative, knowing side to come forward and play. Pull out the art supplies and collage materials, or write with your non-dominant hand, or wave your magic wand and wish, whatever gets your creative juices flowing…then allow space for you to witness what arises without judgment and censorship.
  2. Create an action plan. Start by identifying what you desire to create, your outcome; then break it down into small steps to get there. First identify your clients; then develop your system on how you work with clients; then how you will connect with them; then how you will create a system to continue to follow-up with clients who are not quite ready; then create a plan on how to leverage your time, so more people will have access to the gifts you have and you’ll be of service to many more clients. When you break it down into smaller steps you’ll have a map for your business and you’ll see results quickly!
